How we evaluate a hazard tree
We look for visible defects (cavities, fungal conks, cracks, lean change, root-plate movement), signs of disease or pest decline, structural weaknesses (co-dominant stems, included bark, weak attachments), site factors (saturated soil, root cuts from grading, wind exposure), and the target the tree could hit if it failed. We combine those into a risk rating using ISA's framework, then recommend mitigation — which sometimes means crown reduction or cabling, and sometimes means removal.
